    • Scott will look for a plugin for website access to DropBox folders (the goal is to have master tracks for all repertoire songs for everyone to practice with that are easy to access)
      • Sidebar: The Band will start working on establishing a master recording of each song to be used for practice (Note: Once done, patches will need to be updated to match master recording)
    • Scott will look for a plugin for a continuous calendar that will show ALL band activity (rehearsals, meetings, sing-outs, etc. DONE)

    • From July 16th to 24th everyone will review* all the songs on both the Unvetted and Candidate List in advance of our meeting and come up with their own ‘top 4’ picks from the two lists
    • * The purpose of the review is to listen to the song and use what we have learned over the past year to see if:
      • The song can be played well  (are there too many intricate parts or solos that are difficult; it is musically within our abilities, or out of our reach for where we are right now)
      • The song can be sung well (is it in the vocalist’s range, are the harmonies easy or difficult)

Band Meeting Topics for Monday, June 25, 2018

Topics for the band meeting on Monday, June 25, 2018.:

  1. Recital gig video review, scheduled for Monday, June 25th.
    1. Video reviewed on Monday, June 25th. We think If It Makes You Happy is a good candidate for the website. Joe will produce a “sweetened” audio track and Scott will merge that with the video.
  2. Marina’s feedback.
    1. She really liked the show, made no mention of some less-than-perfect harmonies, but did mention that she thought the harmonies needed to be louder and that there needed to be more slower songs. I explained to her that we replaced Alone with Jump, which lost a slow song.
  3. Mike & Garth status update.
    1. 2016-06-25 – Garth offereed to apologize but nobody thought it necessary. The band was adamant that Scott offer to reimburse Garth for Mike’s substitution and Scott had done so (2018-06-26) and is awaiting a response.
    2. Garth’s discussion with Mike was unfruitful with Mike adamant that he’d done no wrong.
  4. Practice schedule for summer and the months beyond.
    1. Practice schedule updated (2018-06-26). Practices will be Mondays from noon to 4 PM. No practice on Monday, August 6th.
  5. Summer vacation schedule.
    1. Practice schedule updated with Scott & Joanne’s vacation (2018-06-26).
  6. Quarterly status check on band goals and more–it’s been more than three months!
    1. Deferred to Thursday, June 28th.
  7. Next songs to work on. Dropping anything in WIP? Adding anything else?
    1. Deferred to Thursday, June 28th.
  8. Logo update plans. We said we’d revisit the logo after the recital gig.
    1. Deferred to Thursday, June 28th.
  9. Pick photos. We have hundreds of photos from Mike that we need to review to decide what goes on the web.
    1. Scott to do a first pass and post around twenty or thirty photos for further review.
  10. Any other changes needed for our public or internal web pages?
    1. Deferred to Thursday, June 28th.
  11. Pick video segments for the May 18th Practice Gig medley. What do we want to include in the medley video?
    1. Deferred to Thursday, June 28th.
  12. Cottage gig dates?
    1. Tentatively set for September 1st.
  13. Any other gigs to seek?
    1. Deferred to Thursday, June 28th, but date for Joe’s sister’s party is likely in July.
  14. Other Business
    1. At the end of August we should pick a date to use the hall in Wellington West for either a practice and/or a self-hosted gig.
    2. We need to plan our Quarterly Band Meetings for the remainder of this year and onwards.
