In 2019, we returned to Marc’s cottage in Québec for what has become our annual Cottage Gig. This year it was held on August 31st, 2019. As usual, we had several video cameras on hand to record the performance. We produced videos of two songs and they’re listed below.
Livin’ On A Prayer
In this video we cover Livin’ On A Prayer by Bon Jovi. The laptop that records the various channels that make up our sound crashed just after the beginning of this song. Fortunately, we run the stereo output from the mixer to one of the camera audio inputs to create a backup copy, and that’s all we have for this song. So, we couldn’t even adjust the levels of vocals or instruments—what you’re hearing is what the audience heard that day.
This was the last song of our second and final set, so before we finished the song we thanked the audience and a few other key people. That section has been cleverly cut out of the version below.
Here is the full version with the talk at the end intact. It’s pretty amazing that we were able to cut that out to create the video above.
